The Eikendal Classique is the flagship wine from Eikendal.

As the name suggests, the wine was produced in the classic Bordeaux style and is a blend of Bordeaux grape varieties.  The nose and palate are characterised by red and black berries and beautifully integrated wood notes. The Eikendal Classique is a wine with great elegance and finesse and a long, intense finish. The wine has a great ageing potential and can mature for 25 years from the vintage if stored correctly.

Vinification:
The grapes were gently pressed and underwent malolactic fermentation before being transferred to barrels (20% new oak barrels) for 18 months. Each grape variety was fermented and matured separately and only shortly before bottling did the assemblage follow.
Goes well with:
This wine is an excellent accompaniment to lamb, game or fillet of beef. It also harmonises well with springbok carpaccio, beef or lamb ragouts,
