This Pinotage has a deep garnet red colour. The aroma is intense and persistent with notes of cherries and red berries. On the palate, it offers great concentration with pronounced notes of plum, cherry, strawberry jam and black pepper, supported by subtle spicy oak notes on the finish.

During the harvest, the grapes were harvested by hand. Some of the grapes were not destemmed and the wine was fermented in open stainless steel tanks, with pumping over four times a day. The fermenting Pinotage was pressed before fermentation was complete, and fermentation was completed in barrel. Malolactic fermentation also took place in barrel and the wine matured for a further 18 months in French oak barrels, 10% of which were new.
Goes well with:
This wine is an excellent accompaniment to roasts and game. It also has the particular ability to harmonise well with dishes that contain spicy elements, such as curries and bobotie.
