Diemersfontein wrote South African wine history with this wine and the Diemersfontein Pinotage has been a cult wine ever since. It has been copied many times in the meantime, but the original Diemersfontein Pinotage simply remains unrivalled!

The Diemersfontein Pinotage surprises with flavours of mocha, dark chocolate and roasted nuts, but also has hints of caramelised bananas and blackcurrants.

Vinification:
The mocha and chocolate flavours are the result of an ageing method in barrels in which ‘toasted’ barrel staves release roasted aromas to the wine that are associated with coffee and cocoa, as these also acquire their characteristic flavour through roasting. These are therefore completely natural flavours that are not artificially created by any additives.
Goes well with:
Ostrich fillet with chocolate sauce, chocolate fondant and all chocolaty desserts.
